Northwest Hills Contemporary

Seeking to infuse their Pacific Northwest home with elements of the contemporary European design of their heritage, the clients hired Amy to breathe new life into their master bathroom. A once dark and non-functional bathroom boasting a cramped shower, unused jetted tub, and carpeting was re-imagined into a light and bright spa like retreat with expansive shower focused on neutral textures and clean lines. Flat panel cherry cabinets dressed with stainless steel pulls take center stage. The vanity’s quartz slab countertops waterfall to the shower curb and seamless transition to the shower bench, creating a beautiful flow of material and maximizing the use of space to the fullest. Dimensional tile lines the vanity wall, extending into the shower, and is accentuated by a custom back-lit LED mirror. Contemporary single handle faucets in polished chrome combined with a shower column and handheld speak to the European simplicity the client’s craved. A linear mirror was placed high in the shower for privacy and is mimicked by a niche for storage below. Porcelain tiles in linen and travertine looks, combined with a glass mosaic and the dimensional tile of the vanity wall bring the much needed combination of textures for an appealing neutral look.
